Throughout the years, I have collected a fair number of natural artifacts, including among other things, stones, feathers, seedpods, shells and bone fragments. This series of sculptural paintings incorporate many of those items. I have used plaster and cement as the primary medium, allowing me to imprint, carve, scrape and chip away at the surface to create various textures. My intention was to imitate a fossil like record of the natural world which still exists today, but is in danger of disappearing in the not too far off future.
